Elvis Social Club Biography

The 'Elvis Social Club' is the Irish Branch of the Elvis Presley Fan Club of Great Britain, the world's biggest and most respected Elvis organisation. Formed in 1996, the club has gone from strength to strength in relation to the quality of the functions that it organises. The clubs main purpose is to keep Elvis' memory alive through raising funds for charity and providing a social outlet and service to all it's members and patrons.

The club holds monthly social nights at O'Shea's Hotel (Talbot St.) at which we provide Elvis entertainment, varying from discos, karaoke sessions to live bend entertainment. These nights provide a social outlet for it's patrons and are very well attended. At least two to three major charity extravaganzas are organised throughout the year and since the club's formation, we have managed to raise in excess of €15,000 for various charities in Dublin, including the Irish Cancer Society, Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin and the Beaumont Hospital Foundation.

Due to our affiliation with the Elvis Presley Fan Club of Great Britain, the club organises weekend and week long trips to the U.K. each year where we team up with hundreds of Elvis fans across the country. Although membership is quite strong in Ireland, we have increased our membership is quite strong in the U.K due to our close contact with all the fan club branch leaders that are scattered all over the U.K.

As the 'Elvis Social Club' became stronger over the years, we decided to increase the magnitude of our major events and so therefore began to book the likes of Elvis' original band - The TCB Band and former friends of Elvis' like his longstanding buddy and bodyguard, Red West and so on. At an 'Elvis Social Club' event held in March 2003, we booked no less than three members of Elvis' TCB Band to perform with Ireland's most respected Elvis tribute artist - Kevin Doyle and his 'Way it Was' Orchestra. This two-day festival proved to be our most successful to date and sold out in a short space of time.

Our next adventure, in association with MCD and Elvis 'The Way it Was', we anticipate another major success story. We received hundreds of phone calls from our Irish members and patrons, not to mention lots of calls from the U.K. in relation to tickets for this once off, Elvis musical spectacular - ELVIS, PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE. This show featured, onstage together for the very first time, the TCB Band and the Jordanaires. A piece of genuine history took place that night in May.

Since then the club has gone from strength to strength and we are currently gearing up to what will prove to a spectacular 30th Anniversay in 2007.
